C520 Digital Frequency Display for Kenwood TS-520S and SE

Same function as the hard to find Kenwood DG-5

Not recommended for plain 520 without connectors on back for DG-5 display.

Plug and Play. (On a few radios the HET output is too low on the 10 Mtr band in which case I can supply a preamplifer that can be built into the C520. It works fine on mine without the preamplifier.)

C520 display contains  power filter and regulator.  Goes on / off with the radio.

Displays frequency with 10Hz resolution and displays operating mode (LSB, USB, AM and CW)

Fully automatic.  It measures the HETrodyne, VFO and CARrier frequencies and computes the carrier frequency.

Since it measures all the oscillators it takes into account any errors in the crystals in your radio.

Update rate of 5 times per second tracks real time while you tune.

Digital filtering to eliminate bouncing digits due to digital round off.

    ie: does NOT bounce back and forth between 999 and 1000.

Backlit display for low light conditions.

Eliminates the irritation of having to add, in you head, the bandswitch frequency to the dial to get the actual frequency.

Installation consists of connecting three inputs via triple audio/video cable, NOT INCLUDED, but available from Radio Shack.

Power is taken from Counter power connector. You only need to connect to the + side. Ground is provided by the coax.

I cannot find a connector to fit that jack so I used a single pin removed from an old octal tube socket, NOT INCLUDED, wrapped in tape or heat shrink.  I think a Molex female pin could also be used.

Other end of triple cable is connected to the jacks intended for the DG-5 display.
